Episcopal Church Women

The ECW fosters a special kinship in the religious life of the ladies of St. James

Unity – Faith - Service

Fostering a special kinship in the religious life of the ladies of St. James.

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is a fellowship among the women
of St. James.

A variety of programs are offered throughout the year to bring the women of the church together to learn, serve, practice fellowship with our sisters in Christ and above all to grow in God’s grace. The women of St. James’ serve in many ways, some by serving their church community and others serving the local community by actively participating in a variety of organizations.

Many of our ECW membersare volunteers at The Area Ministries Emergency Network (AMEN) Food Pantry, our local hospital and The Second Chance Emporium.

Each November the ECW sponsors “Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart”, a food drive where donations are collected and taken to the Crisis Center in Bastrop, Texas. Donations are used to provide a Thanksgiving Holiday meal for those less fortunate.

A monthly a bake sale is held with proceeds being donated to various local charities. Our youth, who are graduating seniors are awarded by the ECW a $1,000 scholarship to be applied to the university/career school of their choice. ECW funds are also donated to the St. James Preschool to aid in tuition for students.

In closing, our goal is to cultivate the best practices needed to represent our ECW as an organization promoting educational, spiritual and social programs focusing on Christ’s message.

The Episcopal Church Women logo stands as a powerful emblem of unity, faith, and service.

The cross represents Christ and our service to Him in the world. The circle stands for our hope for wholeness in our lives. The out flowing lines from the center depict the many works of the Episcopal Church Women. The intertwined lines represent our lives centered in Christ.
