Spiritual directors, or spiritual companions, are guides whose purpose is to listen deeply to clients and help them explore their spirituality, usually in a nondenominational capacity.

Spiritual Direction is about listening and being fully present with a directee while seeking to uncover the obvious in our lives, realizing that everyday events are the means by which God tries to reach us. At the same time, she /he helps the directee to develop and trust his or her own powers of discernment.
